I believe this William Booth married Bridget Fitzpatrick on 10 May 1843 in Launceston. At the time he was a sawyer.

There is a record on Find My Past for a marriage of a William Booth to Mary Brookes on 25 Apr 1830 (Cheshire Diocese of Chester parish marriages 1538-1910) at Witton-cum-Twambrooks. This is worthy of further investigation. It may be that William lied about his age and past once he entered the convict system in VDL.

He was transported for stealing a Copper Tea Kettle. Hulk record indicates he was married with 2 Children (this is included in the transcript of his Tasmanian Conduct Record (CON31/1/5 Image 75)

Some question about Birth date and place of Origin. After sentencing, he was moved to the Hulk Justitia. His age on the Hulk Register is listed as 28, which would make his birth abt 1804. I have located a Birth record on Find My Past with a Baptism date of 1802 with parents Thomas and Jane (baptised in Cheshire). The location is consistent with his Convict Record which states place of origin as Bolton, Lancashire. Other records show a birth date of 1811, but I have been unable to locate a Birth or Baptism record. The source on ANcestry is a Pioneer Register, identifying his place of origin as Ireland. More research required.
