Sainty and Johnson; 1828 Census of New South Wales. [Ref- L1002] Lock, Alice, 54, FS, Indefatigable, 1796 living with Lock, Matthew a farmer at Wilberforce. The step-son, Thomas is recorded as a farmer in the same area, with a large family.

Alicia married Matthew Lock (Convict, Surprize, 1790). Matthew was a widower with three young children. They were married by Rev Samuel Marsden in Parramatta, 17 July 1797. Both signed the register (Note Alice signed as 'Alicia'.) No issue to the couple have been located.

Alice Burroughs and Amelia Evans were indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 30th April 1795, property of one Lucy Stockford. Being: 4 womens cotton gowns, a black silk cloak, 4 womens linen shifts, a dimity petticoat, a stuff petticoat, 2 pairs cotton stockings, 2 linen aprons a linen apron, a pair of leather shoes, a linen handkerchief, a cotton shawl and £1/3/- in monies. A long trial record was made; Old Bailey record t17950520-34. Found Guilty and sentenced to transportation for 7 years. Tried by the second Middlesex jury before Mr Recorder. Alicia was aged 21.
