James Boroughs arrived at Hobart Town 29th Dec 1844 on the 2nd journey made by Tenasserim transporting prisoners from India. HOBART TOWN. Arrivals.— December 29.— Tenasserim, barque, M'Kenzie, master, from Calcutta 17th October, with sugar, rice, &c., and 20 male prisoners. Passengers — Dr. Wootten, Captain Apperley, 4th Light Cavalry, Mrs. Apperley and three children, Captain Lloyd, Mr. Parry, five rank and file 4t.h Light Cavalry, one woman and child, John Gill, and Mrs. Mason. Lost a prisoner over board on the passage. The shipping Gazette and Sydney General Trade List, Jan 18 1845. 419. James Boroughs, tried Dinapore Ct. Ml. 16 July 1844- 14 years . Transported for Insubordination. Stated this offence – Striking Corporal Timmon with a stick, 62nd Regiment, 1st offence, single. Age 24, native of Co. Carlow. Various incidents recorded. T. L. 16 Dec 51. and 14.12 53. Last entry: Abscd. 27.3.55 to 3.4.55. Convict Indent: Age 24, roman catholic, can read and write, single. 62nd Regt. 5 years. Trade, labourer.
