Edward BOSWELL was convicted at Surrey on 17 Mar 1845 for stealing 49 sheep. 10yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Marion' 1845. Married man, 2 children; butcher; aged 39yrs; 5' 8 1/4"; can read & write; Protestant. Native place - Alton, Hampshire. Wife - Ann Brother - George Assignments in the Colony. Probation Gang: Port Esperance. 19 Mar 1850: Ticket of Leave granted. 20 July 1852: Conditional Pardon granted. 14 April 1855: Free Certificate. Richmond, Tas.
