John BOUCHER was convicted at Glasgow, Scotland on 20 Sept 1843 for stealing a horse and gig. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Mount Stuart Elphinstone' arriving Hobart 17 June 1845. Aged 20 yrs; plasterer; 5'4 3/4" height; Protestant; can read & write; sallow complexion; sandy hair; Hazel eyes. VDL: 12 mth Probation Period Several records of misconduct and punishments. 24 June 1852: Free Certificate issued.
