The Coming Assizes.—Since the publication of the calendar, John Bower has been committed for trial at the spring assizes, the Retford magistrates, for shooting with intent to murder at Everton. Nottingham Journal, 5 March 1860. FELONIOUS SHOOTING AT EVERTON. Thomas Bower, 33, agricultural labourer, was charged with feloniously shooting Thomas Chester, with intent to murder him, at Everton, on the 30th February last; and pleaded not guilty.” Mr. Boden prosecuted; Mr. Flood defended. The prosecutor deposed that was farmer Everton. On the February went with John Mote to Mr. Skelton’s ... Nottingham Journal, 9 March 1860. SENTENCES. The following prisoners were called up, and respectively by his Lordship;— Thomas Bower, for feloniously shooting Thomas Chester, with intent to murder him, at on the 30th February last, to seven years penal servitude.
