Commitments to Stafford County Gaol. Edward Bownas, charged with embezzling various sums of money, to the amount of 100/. and upwards, with a felonious intent to defraud Matthew Bolton, at the Soho. Staffordshire Advertiser, 16 June 1832. The following convicts left our county prison on Monday morning week, for the Justitia Hulk, off Woolwich, George West and David Hall, for life ; Edward Bownas, for twenty-eight years ; Thomas Beardmore, for fourteen years, James Sutton, William Shoppard, Paul Jones, and Samuel Garside for seven years' transportation each.
