Jane Boyle was convicted at Monaghan on 4/4/1850 for larceny - stealing a frock. 7yr sentence. Previous offence for stealing clothes. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar', arriving 1851. Ship Surgeon's Report: very good Protestant; can read; aged 25yrs; 5'0 1/4"; housemaid; dk complexion; brown hair; blue eyes; single; native place of birth - Co. Monaghan. Ticket of Leave 4/10/1853 Delivered of a male child, David, at Hobart 2/4/1854 (ref. 858/1854-33). He died 24/1/1855 (ref. 1708/1855-35). Reconvicted. 26/10/1857: at Brickfields.
