John Boyle was convicted at Co. Clare on 2 Jul 1849 for killing a cow (he stated it was caused by hunger). Never before convicted. Prison report - good. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) on the 'Rodney' arriving 12/02/1853.
