The "Hercules" ship was built in 1801 at South Sheilds, England. 1801 voyage from Ireland to New South Wales, Australia. Sailed via Rio de Janeiro and the Cape. A mutiny occurred just prior to their arrival at Rio - after 45 minutes it was quashed but 13 convicts had been killed. Jeremiah Pendergass was named as the ring leader and shot. 44 deaths in total on this voyage. There was then another ship, also named, "Hercules" built 1822 at Whitby, England who made 3 trips to Austraia, in 1825, 1830 & 1832.

Family connections for Lawrence (Brady) are: BRADY Lawrence (Brady) was born about 1782. He was tried at Monaghan county Ireland in Spring 1801, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1802 after a voyage of 7months on HERCULES. He was a baker when he married Mary (Peat age13)-the first from the school to do so-on 31 8 1803 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He died on 8 10 1815 age33, an emancipist, & was buried at Old Sydney burial ground St Phillips CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Mary (Peat) was born in England in 1790. She arrived in NSW with her fathers family on 30 5 1792 after a voyage of 4months on ROYAL ADMIRAL. She lived at the Orphan School & was the first from the school to do so when sh married on 31 8 1803 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. Details of Mary (Peat)s family are given in entry for Ann (Mullens LADY PENRHYN 1788) on this Website. Lawrence (Brady) & Mary (Peat) produced 1child: 1.Eliza (Brady) was born on 24 10 1804 & baptised on 31 3 1805 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She, as (Eleanor (Brady), married John (Field) overseer on 25 6 1822 at St Phillips CofE Sydney, & produced 2children. ..John (Field) was born in 1794.
