Patrick Brennan was a 25yr. old kitchen gardener from Westmeath transported for 10yrs. for stealing two heifers. His younger brother Charles was onboard for the same offence. In VDL he offended by being drunk and using improper language for which he was fined and sentenced to hard labour. He gained a TL Aug. 1854, but lost it for misconduct. He regained it June 1855 and was granted a CP July 1855. In 1861 he married 16yr. old Mary Barry and they settled at Franklin with eventually seven children. Patrick died at Hobart in 1878 and Mary remarried in 1881.
