Married 23/2/1835 to Sarah Wilson - arrived Earl of Liverpool. She died in Bene. Asylum West Maitland 11/9/1889. There is some confusion in regard to crime -details 1980s records were - Occupation costermonger - Crime hare stealing Sentence 14 years but in recent years I have seen Crime - horse stealing Sentence death so I am not sure which is correct. PRO Chancery Lane London letter 7/11/1983 advised "Felony file does exist but badly damaged" so at that time no information was obtained. Issue of William and Sarah Brett John 1835-1896 Sarah 1837-1838 Caroline Sarah 1840-1902 Mary Ann 1842-1842 William James 1843-1875 Charles 1846-1846 Amelia 1847-1927 Thomas (Birkan) 1849-1927 Susanna Tamar 1853-1868 Family name changes from Brett to Britt in records with modern day descendants being named Britt.
