Convict Notes

Heber was the son of Robert Brewerton and Grace Oldroyd. He married Mary Lockwood in Wibsey, Bradford, Yorkshire and had 7 children; Grace in 1825, Martha in 1828, Mary in 1830, Hannah in 1832, Jesse in 1836, Abraham in 1838 and Thomas in 1839. He is reported to have stolen two sheets and a large quantity of wool from a 'Timothy Oldroyd'. His father, Robert, appears to have been sent to Australia 9 years prior. These details seem to match given the ceasing of children and the location of Gomersall, Yorkshire, not to mention the rarity of the name combination.

Heber was the son of Robert Brewerton and Grace Oldroyd. He was 38 years old when transported and was listed as married (perhaps to Mary Browne). 1845: TOL Camden. 27/2/1849: COF Found no records on NSW BDM for him.

He was actually convicted of Stealing Wool
