Annotated Convict Indentures state that William Brian was a native of Tipperary, Ireland. Aged 22; could read and write; Status single and Religion Catholic. He was a ploughman and reaper. He was convict of cow staling at Waterford on 29 March 1828. Sentenced to 7 years and had no prior convictions. Height 5 feet 6 1/2 inches; complexion ruddy; hair brown and eyes grey. Disposed of by being assigned to Mr Henry C. Antill at the stone quarry. Certificate of Freedom issued in September 1835 Number 35/1074. Application to marry submitted by Rev. Edward Smith to marry Miss Catherine McDonald on 11 January 1841. Granted 18 January 1841. Catherine McDonald arrive din Australia free on Henry Cooper. Married on 4 March 1841 at Jerrabomberra now part of Queanbeyan, NSW.
