Bridget Mccullack was transported on the Margaret, departing 1st Sep 1838 and arriving 5th Jan 1839 with 170 passengers.
Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The 1840 sailing also carried 17 free female passengers and one male. The registers of persons is not yet complete on this web site, so please note this if researching. (A work in progress.)

Amended Surname from McCallack to McCullack as per Indenture spelling.
The Convict Indentures state that Bridget McCallack is 22 years old. She could neither read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status married and no children and a native of County Meath. Bridget was convicted of administering poison to a female at Dublin on 27 October 1837 and sentenced to life. She had no prior conviction. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 4 1/2 inches; complexion fair and pock pitted; hair black and eyes brown. Transport number 47. Prisoner number 47-39.
