Convict Notes

Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. Mary Brien, alias O’Brien, Bryan, age on arrival, 17, per Boddingtons, 1793, Tried at Dublin City, 1791, Life sentence, for Receiving stolen mail. DOB, 1776. Native place, Dublin. Spouse: m 1793 Parramatta, George Patfield. Died 1853, at Hunters Hill. References: Convict Indents. Hall – Of Infamous Character, p 16. Smee & Selkirk Provis – Pioneer Register Vol 1 --------------------------------------------------------------- I have my doubts as to whether this Mary Brien was the person who married George Patfield in 1793, and consequently, whether she died in 1857. NSW records suggest that the Mary Brien who married George Patfield was a convict per Neptune. See records of evidence given in 1809 at the Inquest of George Patfield.

Born Dublin Ireland. Crime Receiving stolen mail. Died 1853 Hunters Hill NSW.
