The Convict Indentures state that Mary Brien was 27 years old. She could not read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Tipperary. She was a thorough servant. Mary was convicted of stealing a coat on 1 June 1837 at Limerick City and sentenced to 7 years transportation. She had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: height 5 feet 7 inches; complexion ruddy and freckled; hair dark brown and eyes grey. Transport number 79. Prisoner number 78-38.
