When the settlers abondoned Port Phillip, Melbourne, Victoria the ship transferred convicts, settlers and marines to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). In 1815, 1817 & 1823 the 'Ocean' transported convicts to New South Wales.

Daniel Brodrick has been committed to the County Gaol, Maidstone, charged with uttering several forged and counterfeit one pound Bank of England notes at Chatham and Gillingham. Kentish Weekly Post, 25 Feb 1817. Kent assizes, Maidstone. D. Brodrick, for tendering forged promissory note, with intent to defraud W. Chapell, Transported 14 years. Kentish Weekly Post, 25 March 1817.
