James Bromhall/broomhall was 19/20 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for 'for stealing 31 yards of velveteen, valued at one pound, and some keys, the property of a Mr John Ellis. James was 5'10½" tall, fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, two small scars on forehead, mole near the elbow joint on his left arm. James was assigned to Mr William Bryan. 1832: COF 19/2/1838: Married Mary Catherine Coan at Longford, Tas. (Mary arrived as a free emigrant per the 'Amelia Thompson' in 1836). They had 11 children. 23/6/1875: James died of Old age and natures decay, aged 72, listed as a labourer, at Reedy Marsh, Deloraine, Tas., and was buried at St Marks Church of England, Deloraine. (Mary died in Victoria, aged 77 on 1/2/1888.)
