Previous convictions. Thomas John Brooks, for robbing the stable of Wm. Bromley, to be imprisoned one month. Bury and Norwich Post, 19 March 1823. --------------------------------------------------- Thomas John Brook pleaded guilty of having a robbed the furnished lodgings of Mr. William Wright, in St. Mary Tower, and was sentenced to be 12 months imprisonment and hard labour in the House of Correction. Ipswich Journal, 19 Mar 1825.




Thomas John Brook, 32, was convicted of stealing a piece of cloth the property of Mr. J. B. Lawrence, tailor, of Ipswich. It was proved that he had been convicted of stealing in March, 1825, at Ipswich; and being found guilty of the present offence, he was sentenced to be transported for life. He married Margaret Walsh (1826-1894) in 1852 at New Norfolk (Back River) she was also a convict (Ship - Blackfriar 1851) from Wexford, Ireland
