1814 - The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser. Sat 2 Jul 1814. Page 2. COURT OF CRIMINAL JURISDICTION. COURT OF CRIMINAL JURISDICTION. SYDNEY.-George Stone, Joseph Brooks, and William Dennison, were indicted for feloniously killing a young bull, on the 14th April last, near the Cowpastures, the property of some person or persons unknown ; the examinations taken by which fact went to prove, that the prisoners charged, together with two other persons, had driven the bull into Mr. Redfern's stock-yard, with his own herd of cattle, which the stranger had joined, and after killing it by repeatedly firing at it, took away about 20 lbs. of flesh, and left the whole remainder of the carcase a prey to dogs. They were found guilty ; and sentenced, Stone and Brooks 5 years to hard Labour at Newcastle, two of which in the gaol gang there ; and Dennison the same term at Sydney 1814 - 16 July Sent to Newcastle per Endeavour.
