Crime: Burglary in dwelling house of William Jellis of Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, and stealing various articles including a pair of shoes, on 28 September 1831. Initial sentence: Death, commuted to transportation for life. Gaoler's report: Character bad. Annotated (Outcome): Nil. Petitioner(s): The pri soner, undersigned by William Jellis, the prosecutor and 16 inhabitants of Wigginton and Tring, Hertfordshire. Elizabeth Brooks of Tring, the prisoner's mother. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Error in due process; prosecutor recommends mercy. Additional Information: Prisoner from Wigginton.
