Family connections for Elizabeth (Brown) are: BROWN Elizabeth (???/Brown) seems to have been born about 1796. She seems to have been tried probably at Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 23 1 1825 after a voyage of 4months on GRENADA. She married Samuel (Rawson his first marriage) blacksmith on 7 9 1825 in Sydney-Smees records show 5 12 1825 at St James CofE Sydney. She died on 11 10 1827 age32 at Castlereagh St Sydney & was buried, as (Rawson), at St James CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Samuel (Rawson) was born on 16 12 1795 at Winkburn Nottinghamshire. He was a blacksmith; he was convicted with his brother Richard in 1818 at Nottingham Quarter Sessions for stealing clothing linen food & sentenced to 7years, arriving in NSW as a convict on 19 10 1819 after a voyage of 4months (or 5 2 1820-8months) on ATLAS. On 13 4 1822 he was charged with 1other for drunkenness & turbulent conduct & sentenced to 75lashes & returned? to Port Macquarie-he was assigned to Shell Gang on the flatt at Field of Mars. He was a blacksmith in 1825 in Sydney & was issued his Certificate of Freedom in October of this year. He was a nailer in 1827. He was living in Sydney when he married secondly Mary (Grady) on 23 1 1829 at St Marys RC Sydney. He arrived in Bathurst in 1841 & was a farmer until 1865 at Brisbane Valley creek; living at Sammys Paddock. He died on 8 11 1865 age69 father of 12children at Brisbane Valley Oberon & was buried at RC Brisbane Valley.
