Colonial Secretary’s Office 22nd Septr 1821 Sir I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of 16 July, 16 August and two of 29th Augt last. By the present opportunity of the Brig Queen Charlotte Depy Asst Commiss..Roberts proceeds to Port Dalrymple and has the Governor’s permission to take with him his Servant John Brown, a Convict for Fourteen years by the Shipley (1) in 1817, having been tried at Edinburugh City: 15 Sept 1815. Brown holds a Ticket of leave, which Indulgence His Excellency desires may be continued to him in Van Diemens Land. Mr Roberts also takes with him Abm Van Brienan, a convict for seven years arrived per Agammembnon in 1820, tried at Middn. ..15 Jany 1820. By the Queen Charlotte also proceeds john Gratton ordered by the Governor to be sent to Port Dalrymple as Overseer of the Hospital; He is a Convict for Life arrived Per Ocean (2) in 1818, tried at Leicester, 25th March 1817. You will have the ggoodness to forward the particulars of the sentences of these convicts to His Honour Lieutet Govr Sorell. I have the honor to be Sir Your Obedt Hbl Servt F Goulburn Col Secry
