Family connections for Sarah (Brown) are: BROWN Sarah (Brown) was born about 1814. She was tried at probably Old Bailey, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 31 12 1831 after a voyage of 5months on BURRELL. She married Isaac (Cribb/Melson his second marriage) on 28 2 1835. She was issued her Certificate of Freedom no.40/0004 on 1 1 1840 for Richmond. [Some details taken from this Website] Isaac (Cribb/Melson) was born about 1786/9 at Bristol, perhaps Gloucestershire & became a labourer. He was tried for horse stealing at Wells Somerset Assizes, sentenced to death reprieved to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 9 1815 after a voyage of 5months on BARING. He served John (McArthur) at Parramatta from 1815-17 & John (Cribb) from 1817 at Richmond. He was with John (Cribb) when he was issued his Ticket of Leave no.24/360 on 25 8 1824. He sought permission to marry firstly Alice (Gordon) on 8 11 1830. He was issued his Conditional Pardon no.245 on 10 7 1834. On 27 1 1847 5persons including a John (Cribb) were charged with forcible entry on the (Cribb) residence at Colo, followed by assault of Ann (Cribb)-2of the persons were found guilty of the assault. He died in November 1858 age about69 at Rushcutters Bay St James Glebe father of perhaps 2children.
