And on Wednesday the Commission will be opened at the Town Hall in this City, for the County of Oxford, where Stephen Baker is to take his Trial for stealing Calf Skin, the Property of Paul Sylvester of Fulbrook, near Burford, Thomas Keate, William Smith, and Geo. Looker, for stealing Poultry from Warborough, Edward Denfey, for Sheep Stealing; and James Brucker, charged with stealing forty-eight Dozen and Four Bottles of Red Port from Braze Nose College, in this University. Oxford Journal, 5 July 1788. Morning a Respite, ’till his Majesty’s Pleasure shall be known, was received from Lord Chief Justice Kenyon, (dated from Worcester, 15th July, 1788,) for James Brucker under Sentence of Death, in our Castle Goal, for a Robbery committed at Braze Nose College.
