Richard Brunsden was convicted at Oxford 25 Feb 1843. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Maitland' arriving 8 Feb 1844. Aged 21yrs; single; farmer and ploughman; 5'1"; Protestant. Native place - Wilton, Oxfordshire. Father - John Burford 30 mths Probation Period. First stationed at Norfolk Island then Salt Water River, VDL. 1851: Oatlands 1852: Longford 20 June 1854: Ticket of Leave 17 June 1856: Conditional Pardon Application for Permission to Marry: 1852 - to Alice Dowzer (transported per 'Blackfriar'). Not approved. 1854 - to Alice Dowzer, now approved. Married: 1854
