16/7/1864 Hampshire Telegraph Hampshire, England: HANTS SUMMER ASSIZES George Lait and Joseph Buckley pleaded guilty to feloniously setting fire to a stack of straw, the property of at John Taylor at Romsey, on the 16th of May, 1864. Sentence - seven years' penal servitude. George Lait arrived WA per 'Vimiera 1865'. Joseph Buckley was 22 years old on arrival in WA., he was single, 4'11" tall, dark brown hair, brown eyes, oval face, fair complexion, slight build, scar on left knee, sore on throat, left eye contracted, literate. 24/5/1868: TOL 23/9/1871: COf Comments: Labourer, general servant. On whaling cruise, 7/4/1874.
