Timothy BUCKLEY was convicted at Cork, Ireland on 16 March 1846 for Bigamy. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Tory' arriving 18 March 1847. Aged 27yrs; a labourer; 5'8"; Roman Catholic; can read & write a little. First wife - Joan Neagle - married abt 5 yrs. 1 child. Second wife - Ellen Allety (?) 1 child. Native place of birth: Co. Cork, Ireland. Father - Darby Mother -Biddy Brothers - John & Darby Sisters - Joan & Nancy Probation period 2 yrs, 7 mths. Darlington, Maria Island (off east coast of VDL). 26 March 1850: Ticket of Leave granted. 10 Feb 1852: Conditional Pardon approved.
