Burglary at Whitby.—On Sunday last, the house of Mr. Mackey, publican, of Whitby, was broken open, and a quantity of spirits stolen therefrom. The thieves had been disturbed, and leaving the taps of the spirit casks running, a great quantity of spirits was wasted. Information was given to Mr. Wilkinson, the police officer of Whitby. He then went to Snainton, and raised the hue and cry. Several parties of the villagers went out search of the delinquents; and Mr. Coverley, of Scarborough, and a man named Bedford, of Snainton, succeeded in apprehending the three men, whose names are George Bullock, Benj. Bullock, and George Lockwood, in whose possession was found nearly all the property stolen from Mr Cuthank's and Miss Coverley's ; also a complete set of skeleton keys, every size, and other implements for house-breaking.
