Convict Notes

State Library of Queensland on 15th July 2012

Mary Burke was apparently married in Ireland to Patrick Bluett (per Brampton 1823) however; 3/7/1823: Reently arrived per Woodman 1823. Re place of assignment of her husband Patrick Bluett who arrived per 'Brampton 1823'. 1/5/1824: On list of prisoners assigned. Then in February 1824 asked for permission to marry Patrick Bluett?? and in March 1824 asked for permission to marry Patrick Taaffe (per Lord Sidmouth 1821). 20/10/1824: Mary married Patrick Taaffe, they lived in Kent Street and had 6 children. Patrick died in 1841 and Mary married Thomas Carr on 5/3/1844. Patrick Bluett got a TOL in 1843 and a CP in 1848 so he must have still been alive. (Odd?) Mary died in Bombala at the age of 70 on 29/8/1866.
