Statement of John Green, Clerk of Emu Plains Establishment, 2 June 1827, relating to female convicts sent to the government Agricultural Establishment at Emu Plains in 1822-23, Colonial Office Records, CO 210/182, p. 328 http://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-987061240: Elizabeth Burnham per Providence Recd May 1st/[18]22 Discharged 11th October 1823 with her Husband (to Mr Hobby) having married a prisoner under sentence for life, from Mr Hobby they were discharged for improper conduct and have since been living at different places in the district of Evan- one man in whose house they lived a short time ago, was convicted of a rape upon the woman. Eliza Burnham was one of several prisoners sentenced at the Old Bailey for having forged bank notes in their possession. THIRD DAY. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1820. 1253. JOHN MOONE , PHILLIS JOHNS , RACHAEL HERBERT , RICHARD STEPHENS , ANN PRINCE , WILLIAM BANTON , WILLIAM SMITH , ROBERT GREENHILL , ANN CLIFTON , MARY LAMBERT , RUBEN DAVY , JAMES CRIDLAND , JOHN SCOTT HEATH , JOHN MATHESON , THOMAS WITTEY , MOSES BANNISTER , SUSAN DILLOW , ANN DEAN , ELIZA SLATER , and ELIZA BURNHAM , were severally and separately indicted for feloniously having forged 1 l. Bank notes in their possession, knowing them to be forged . To which indictments they severally pleaded GUILTY . Transported for Fourteen Years . Before Mr. Recorder. 1254. The same prisoners were again indicted for feloniously and knowingly disposing of and putting away forged Bank notes, with intend to defraud . MR. REYNOLDS, on behalf of the prosecution, declined offering any evidence. NOT GUILTY. Before Mr. Recorder. Source: Old Bailey online.

Elizabeth (Burnham) was born about 1805. She married Henry (Chapman) in 1823 at St Johns Parramatta. He was born about 1797, was sentenced Life Middlesex Gaol Delivery in 1815 & arrived NSW on BARING that year. One child resulted.
