Son of Isiah and Hannah Burpitt,Woolverton Wilts England.married Anne (née Coward)Burpitt 1816 - 1878.3 children.He was given a conditional Royal pardon a week prior to his departure subject to his depart for Australia.In 1849/50 he moved to San Francisco.On November 6th 1852 he married Mrs Margaret McEvoy.He subsequently returned to the Macleary river at Summer Island as Store owner and Postmaster.Mr.Burpitt,an old and respected resident of the river,died suddenly in the night of the 14 th inst.He had been suffering latterly from nervousness and sleeplessness,and it appears was in the habit of taking chlordyne,to provide sleep.....MacLean Herald,Sept 21 1878.Margaret died 3rd October 1893 at West Kempsey.Did he have a daughter Mary?
