Johns’ parents were possibly John Burton and Sarah Pratchett. John was originally sentenced to death but this was commuted to Life. He received a conditional pardon on 1st December 1838.He married Mary Ann Dawes in Windsor NSW on 31 May 1842. They had 9 children.
