Per "Shipley", 1817 1817 May 2 On list of convicts disembarked from the "Shipley" and forwarded to Parramatta for distribution (Reel 6005; 4/3496 p.129) 1818 Oct 2 On list of prisoners to be sent to Newcastle per "Lady Nelson" (Reel 6006; 4/3499 p.93) --------------------------------------------------------------- 2 Oct 1818. On list of prisoners to be sent to Newcastle per "Lady Nelson" Per Shipley, Thomas Busson, convict, tried by Mr McArthur, Esq. 10 Sept 1818, Trade, farmer, sentence, one year. Sydney, June 27, 1818. THE under-mentioned Prisoners having absented themselves from their respective Employments, and some of them at large with false Certificates, all Constables and others are hereby required to use their utmost Exertions in apprehending and lodging them in safe Custody: From Bayley Park: John Busson. ADM 101/67/2/1 Diary of the convict ship Shipley for 19 November 1816 to 3 May 1817 by George Clayton, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the ship was employed in carrying convicts, soldiers and passengers from England to New South Wales. Folio 3: 20 November 1816: Received 70 convicts on board at Woolwich apparently in health except five with ulcerated legs.  Folio 6: 14 December 1816: Thomas Burton one of the ulcer cases cured.

Thomas Burston alias Duxton, age 42, Felony, tried 30 Mar 1816 at Somerset, Life, To NSW 3 Dec -------------------------------------------------------------------- Somerset Assizes. The six following were left for execution: Thomas Harper, for forging three receipts for money; George Wheeler, for being an accessary to shooting, with intent to kill, Blanker, the Earl of Cork’s gamekeeper; Thomas Webb, for breaking into Cannard’s Grave Inn; Thomas Burston, for stealing four sheep from the Rev G.Trevalyan; and G. Vowles and Wm. Davis, for horse-stealing. London Courier and Evening Gazette, 15 April 1816.
