James Butler arrived per Vittoria 17 Jan 1829 at Sydney He was aged 22, born at Somerset, England and was a protestant. tried at Taunton Somerset on the 29 March 1828 Trial Sentence: Life - his description is Height in feet & inches: 5 4.5; Complexion: Dark ruddy; Hair: Dark Brown; Eyes: Brown; on arrived he was assigned to by Constable McLeay of Sydney his Conditional Pardon Number: 37/389; CP 38 dated 17 Feb 1845
