Convict Notes
At Salisbury assizes, six prisoners were capitally convicted, viz, Isaac Andrew, W. Moon & David Moon, for robbing John Hazell, of Ramsbury, on the highway, of five guineas in gold and a silver watch, John Bigwood, for stealing 24 guineas and a half from a box in the dwelling-house of John Carter, of Warminster, James Butt and John Chubb, for assaulting Richard Macey, of Chilmark, and taking from his person 14s 6d. The three first are left for execution. Bigwood is respited till his Majesty’s pleasure shall be further known; Butt and Chubb are reprieved. Bath Chronicle, 29 July 1790
