James Buttry was 27 years old and came from Drypool, Yorkshire. Lincolnshire. Gov. has him listed on their website, but no crime was listed. 1836: TOL District/Georgiana 1841: TOL Goulburn 1/10/1842: CP 12/2/1848 Sydney Chronicle: GOULBURN CIRCUIT COURT.(From our Correspondent )- Monday February 7. CATTLE STEALING.James Battry, late of Goulburn, was indicted for stealing a cow, on the 20th July. 1846, at Grabengullen, the property of Alexander Turner. The trial was lengthy – James Battry had about 30 head of cattle that he owned and said it was one of his own – The Jury found him Not Guilty and he was discharged. Nothing found on the BDM, and no further references to him found.
