Caroline BUXTON was convicted at Lancaster on 25 Feb 1833 for stealing from the person. Previous convictions and connections bad. Life Sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'William Bryan' arriving 23 Oct 1833. Aged 21yrs; single woman; house servant; 4'10 1/2". Work services in the Colony. 21 Aug 1840: Application for permission to marry - to Henry REED (transported per 'Lady Harewood'). Approved. 14 Sept 1840: Marriage. Caroline BUXTON aged 29yrs to Henry REED aged 25yrs. At Hobart. (ref. 37.1.1 no. 549) Conditional Pardon approved 1846.
