Family connections for Francis (Byrne) are: Some amendments added Aug 2025. BYRNE/BURN Francis (Byrne/Burn) was born in 1794 at Glendalough Wicklow co. Ireland & became a miller. He was tried at Dublin city Ireland in 1814, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 4 1816 after a voyage of 4months on GUILDFORD. He married Sarah (Hibbs age14) on 24 10 1820 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. He was Free by Servitude by 1822. He was recorded in 1824 as a farmer. In 1828 he was recorded as a miller at Fox Point Lower Portland Head; he was a farmer too. He died on 27 4 1850 age56 at MacDonald River. [Some details taken from this Website; where 2others of the (Byrne) family name have entries.] Sarah (Hibbs) was born on 3 3 1806 at Portland Head & baptised on 13 10 1816 age10 w/William, Richard, Joseph at St Matthews CofE Windsor; she was Catholic. She died on 17 9 1849 age43. Details of Sarah (Hibbs)s family are given in entry for Mary (Pardoe LADY JULIANA 1790) on this Website. Francis (Burn/Byrne) & Sarah (Hibbs) produced 12children: 1.Mary Ann (Byrne) was born on 12 12 1822 at Portland Head & baptised on 22 2 1824 age14m w/Hannah & relation Francis (Izzard) at St Matthews CofE Sydney. She died on 22 2 1842 age19. 2.Hannah (Byrne) was born on 5 4 1823 at Portland Head & baptised on 22 2 1824 w/Mary Ann & relation Francis (Izzard) at St Matthews CofE Sydney. She died on 23 7 1898 age75. 3.Thomas (Byrne) was born on 3 7 1825 at Lower Portland Head & baptised on 6 6 1828 age2 w/James at St Marys RC Sydney. He died on 11 7 1892 age65. 4.James (Byrne) was born on 21 11 1826 at Lower Portland Head & baptised on 6 6 1828 age19m w/Thomas at St Marys RC Sydney. In the colony, Francis married Sarah Rebecca Hibbs, St Matthews, Windsor, October 23rd 1820. Sarah was the daughter of Peter Hibbs (First Fleet Seaman, Sirius, 1788) and Mary Ann Pardoe (Second Fleet Convict, Lady Juliana, 1790). Francis and Sarah had 12 children between 1821 and 1843.

Francis Byrne aged 23 was tried in 1814 at Dublin City and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He was described as a miller, native place Wicklow. He was transported aboard the ship 'Guildford'.
