Joseph married Catherine O'Brien and their children were James 1829-1899, Michael 1833,Patrick 1831,John 1827.

Joseph was convicted under the insurrection act of 1822.

Joseph Byrne was about 36 years old when transported for "Unlawful oaths". 13/4/1823: Joseph married Catherine O'Brien/brien/breen at St Mullins, County Carlow, they had 5 children. Catherine (the children arrived, so I presume Catherine did too, although I can't find a death for her) arrived per "Success" 18/12/1849. 1843: TOL Braidwood 1/11/1848: CP 1850: Bank Warrant 9/9/1869: Joseph died at Tarago NSW aged 71 and is buried at "Ryansvale", a small Catholic Cemetery which is not on private land on the property "Springfield".
