Margaret Byrne was convicted at Dublin on 09/06/1840 for stealing handkerchiefs. 7yr sentence. Transported on the 'Mary Ann', voyage 174, departing Dublin 27/11/1840 arriving Van Diemens Land 30/03/1841. Convict no. 9926. Records state both single & married, unclear which is correct? Native Place: Galway. Aged 30yrs. 5'; pale complexion; dk brown hair; light brown eyes. Nursemaid. Clear Conduct Record. Died 21/05/1842 aged 32 yrs at Hobart. (ref. Hobart Muster)
