No; 39 Name; Mary Byrne Amount; 1 Shilling & 8 pence




The Convict Indentures state that Mary Byrne was 28 years old. She could read and write; religion Roman Catholic; status married and a native of County Wicklow. she was a house maid and plain cook. Mary was convicted of House breaking at Dublin City on 25 September 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior conviction and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 3/4 inches; complexion ruddy and much freckled; hair brown and eyes grey. Transport number 25. Prisoner number 25-38. Received her Certificate of Freedom in 1845 (number 45/571).
