I have the honor to be, Sir, …. Willoughby Bean Affadavit: James Ferris, a prisoner of the Crown who arrived per ship Hadlow (2) and now an assigned Government servant to Mr Wiloughby Bean of Broken Bay in the Territory of New South Wales maketh oath and sayeth that he was married to Mary Burns in the year 1816 at the parish church of Hackerston in the County of Carlow by the Reverend Hickey, chaplain of the said parish, and this deponent further saith that the said Mary Burns arrived in this Colony per ship Mariner in July last, a prisoner of the Crown for seven years and is at present confined in His Majesty’s gaol at Sydney, waiting to be forwarded to the Government Factory at Parramatta.
