Tried for stealing 2 sheep, sentenced to 7 years transportation 1847 aged 49. His first offense, crime occurred at the beginning of the Irish Famine. He would have been desperate to feed his family. 3 of his children followed him to Tasmania in 1859. Michael Cahill, Mary Cahill and Sarah Cahill.
