Margaret Kittelty and James Cairns had the following children born in Tasmania. 1) James Cairns b 1 Sept 1845 Hobart d 5 July 1862 in Port Cygnet. Drowned. 21 July 1862 Inquest. Boating Accident on the Huon. 2) Sarah Ann Cairns b 23 Sept 1846 Hobart. married 6 March 1873 to William Devey Eaves. Sarah Eaves d 30 May 1924 Hobart Hospital. She was a mother of 6 children.

9 March 1845 James Cairns aged 26 years married Margaret Kittelty aged 18 years, she was born in Scotland to parents Ann Miller & Solomon Kittelty who were free settlers to Hobart Town.
