Henry was the son of Bridget Fitzgerald and Henry Callaghan. Henry born approx 1822 in Rathcormac County Cork, Ireland. Henry was 5’3 ¼” tall, black hair, hazel eyes, scar inside left arm, single, fair complexion. 16/3/1843: TOL 1845: COF 23/2/1852: travelled on the ship "The Swift" to Melbourne where he then continued to Geelong. 1854: married Margaret O'Brien. They had a son Henry born in Avoca in 1855, he moved to South Australia. 3 other children born in Lexton, Victoria. 1872: Henry died aged 52. Margaret died in 1898 aged 60 at Geelong.

His original name was "O" Callaghan. The irish were ordered to drop their "O"by the English royal family...otherwise they would not be fed. Henry picked the "O"back up again once his first son was born
