12 August 1873, District of Emu Bay. Death of Jane Calver, age 34 years, labourer’s wife, cause - uterine hemorrhage, Informant, Arthur B. Willis, Coroner, -------------------------------------------------- Coroners Report :https://stors.tas.gov.au/SC195-1-56-7224 Inquest on Jane Calver, 15th August 1873, at the house of Enoch Davies, known as the Somerset Hotel. Verdict: Jane died on 12th August after a violent pain and hard labour, did bring forth the said male child alive; and that the said Jane Calver of the hemorrhage and disorder occasioned by such hard labor and difficult birth aforesaid, did die; Coroner, Arthur B. CALVER.—In loving memory of Percival Lewis Calver, who was accidentally drowned off Sea View Beach, Ulverstone, on September 27, 1896, aged 14 years. Ipswich Borough Sessions. George Culver, 10, found guilty of having stolen two tame rabbits, the property of Thos. Strange; also, of having' stolen two fowls, the property of Wm. Nicholas, was sentenced to seven years’ transportation. There was third indictment against him, but no evidence was offered. Suffolk Chronicle, 12 Jan 1850.
