John Camelon was a soldier in the 57th Regiment and was tried at Trinchenopoly General Court Martial, India in 1840. His crime was "Stabbing". John was single. The Sesostris transported only 4 convicts, all Irish and Court Martialled in India, and also 7 boys from the Madras Military Male Orphan Asylum who were of pure European descent and not less than 12 years old. They were to be trained as apprentices. John's native place was Belfast, Antrim County. No other records found.
