William Cannon was convicted at the CCC, London on 16 Jan 1840 for stealing a clock from a pawn broker. Previous offence. 7yr sentence. Sent to Parkhurst Prison for Boys on the Isle of Wight. Noted as good and industrious. Further transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Mardarin' 1843. Single; tailor. Native place: Shoreditch, London. Apprenticed out - Melville St. Hobart. Conditional Pardon approved 12 Oct 1847.
